Project overview
Chatham Area Transit (CAT) is the public transportation authority for Chatham County, Georgia, United States, primarily serving Savannah and the surrounding area. CAT provides a variety of transportation services, including fixed-route buses, paratransit services, DOT (downtown shuttles), and the Savannah Belles Ferry.
We are intent to redesign the CAT website’s information architecture to better support Savannah’s young residents who rely on public transportation.

From chaotic bus schedules to seamless urban mobility
Empowering every rider with real-time insight and control, transforming public transit from uncertainty to confidence.
What mess?
The current website suffers from major usability and structural issues. The lack of clear hierarchy and organization makes it difficult for users to find essential information or complete tasks efficiently.
Inconsistent navigation, fragmented ticketing systems, and duplicated content further reduce usability.
Additionally, the site attempts to cater to too many audiences simultaneously, diluting its focus and effectiveness.
Current problems
We conducted secondary research to gather public feedback on the bus service and carried out seven interviews with individuals who rely on the bus as their primary mode of transportation to better understand their experiences and pain points.
